Online small business start up course

Need a 365-day Business Mentor?

If you’re an entrepreneur or business owner the goal is simple: to make money out of your business.

I’ve been running a profitable small business for 12 years and I’ve read scores of books about business, sales and marketing but I’ve also learnt a lot the hard way, by trial and error. That seemed normal to me because no two businesses are alike so it’s hard to get information that will help you make your business better.

Until recently I hadn’t tried any of the business ebooks and online courses on offer. To be honest, there are so many of them it can be overwhelming and there’s always the worry that they won’t provide enough value.

But about two months ago I took the plunge and invested in Chris Guillebeau’s Empire Builder Kit. It teaches you how to build a meaningful lifestyle business in one year, starting at $149 for a 365-day plan of attack.

Chris is an entrepreneur, writer and blogger who I personally admire trust and the Empire Builder Kit course appealed because it has video and print case studies of over 20 small business owners who’ve built up profitable businesses fast. By reading or hearing the amazing stories from other small business owners you can pick and choose which tips will work for your business.

The case studies are excellent but probably the best part of the course is that you receive one email a day (yes, 365 tips!) that will help you build a strong business over the course of the year. I’ve personally found these emails to be motivational, useful and inspiring. It’s like having a business mentor looking over your shoulder keeping you on track on a daily basis.

If you’re interested, Chris is re-launching his Empire Builder Kit today.

Course Investment

The Empire Building Kit represents great value for money for anyone who’s setting up a new business or growing an existing one. Especially if you plan to do some business online and a strong Internet marketing strategy will help you. There are three investment options:

Emperor-in-training: $149

Hail Caesar: $249

Alexander the Great: $449

Basically, the more you pay the more information you have access to. I went for Alexander the Great because I already had a business, but if you’re a new business owner or just setting up, one of the other courses will be more than enough to set you on the road to building your empire.

Find out more about how to build your own empire in one year here.

This is an affiliate links for a product I stand by and believe in 100%. The Empire Building Kit’s not for everyone but it’s definitely helped me so I’m happy to recommend it to you today on that basis. Only you can decide if it will help you too.

There are a few more small business marketing ebooks and courses on the blogging resources page, but not many because I only want to recommend the very best stuff that will  help you reach your goals.

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back next week with more empowering tips for life and work.

Good luck with all your plans and here’s to our empire building success!

Nice post and thank you for helping me find out about Chris Guillebeau. I am new to internet marketing and started in April of this year.
I was lost in surfing joining different programs, spending money and then I stumbled on to Chris Farrell’s e-book and with his guidances started actually earning on the net . His site was voted No.1 Internet Marketing Service by IMReportCard – 2009, and for a newbie I feel it’s a place to be.

I think the use of case studies is one of the best ways to show real results. You can’t argue with results ;)

Hi JD, they certainly make a dull business story more interesting and real too:)

I like the daily approach! The hard thing about starting a business, is sticking with it once the “honeymoon” period wears off… :-)

I’ve been reading many of your super bloggers/affiliate marketers blogs for approximately two years. I’ve noticed most of them selling their books and models to success. I’m extremely interested but if I were to buy your ebooks. I’d still fail because of my technical and writing limitations. How about a model where for your contributions to others businesses you recieve a percentage of the revenue generated? Say for example you helped my business/website from scratch net $30,000(multiplied by the others you help) and you were given a high percentage 30-50% which was held in an online escrow account to ensure your payment. Wouldn’t that work better than selling a $39-149 ebook? Food for thought.
